At our hospital we can provide most of the care your pet bird's needs. Since birds hide illness until the point of near death, yearly exams are highly recommended to detect problems early. Of course if your bird acts ill - don't wait! Call for an appointment and bring him in ASAP.
Many avian problems are due to:
Getting chilled
Wrong Diet. Bird 'seed' is the worst thing to feed! The best is a balanced, pelleted diet. Many birds will unfortunately not eat that. We have options!!
Lack of Vitamins/Minerals
Skin mites
Not enough mental stimulation for 'smart' birds. African Greys can have the intelligence of a 2 year old child
Poor perch. NO DOWEL RODS! Natural branches and sticks are best (pesticide free).
