Many airlines require pet owners to provide a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian before a pet can fly on their airline. Usually, these certificates need to be issued within 10 days of travel – however, requirements may vary by airline.
At Turquoise Animal Hospital, our veterinarians can issue both domestic and international health certificates. We can provide you with APHIS Form 7001.
Please be aware that if you are flying out of the country, some countries may have additional requirements or restrictions to bring your pet into their country; for example, some countries require extra Rabies vaccinations, flea and tick treatments, etc. Make sure you check the requirements for your specific destination before your appointment so we can provide you with everything you need.
For more information please visit the USDA APHIS webpage at www.aphis.usda.gov.
You can look up specific international requirements at APHIS’s International Regulations page at www.aphis.usda.gov/regulations/vs/iregs/animals/.
